Coronation Street fans prove Kit Green is 'wrong 'un' with glaring notebook error

by · Manchester Evening News

Coronation Street fans have proven Kit Green is a 'wrong 'un' after spotting a glaring error in his notebook as he tried to get to the bottom of Joel Deering's murder.

The detective constable, who only arrived on the cobbles earlier this year as the long-lost son of Bernie Winter, had taken over the case of the solicitor's disappearance before his body was found, and a murder investigation was launched.

Joel hadn't been seen on the cobbles since making a concerning phone call last month. He did not show up to his plea hearing, and a warrant was issued for his arrest after DS Lisa Swain was able to nail him for buying the drugs used to prompt Lauren Bolton's early labour, having intended for her to miscarry their baby son, Frankie, as his grooming of the teen was uncovered.

After transferring money to Lauren and his ex-wife Emily, it was believed Joel may end up taking his own life as his car was found. However, Joel's ex-fiancée Dee-Dee Bailey didn't believe this version of events leaving Swain and Kit to keep on digging.

But, as Joel's dad was hauled in for questioning after he was seen on CCTV alongside his son, PC Craig Tinker approached Swain and Kit and announced Joel's body was found by three lads at a riverbank.

Kit went to break the news to Dee Dee and Lauren at the hospital while Swain, who was taken off Joel's case after Kit found messages from him threatening to kill her daughter, Betsy, ended up revealing the news to people in the Rovers.

But Kit was later seen calling back at the hospital and told Lauren that the post-mortem revealed that Joel was dead before he entered the river, so they’re now looking at a murder investigation. He went on to question Lauren about where she was on the night of Joel’s death, the 27th of September and his questioning of various potential suspects has continued since.

Kit's notes were revealed

During Wednesday night's (October 23) Corrie, Kit was seen working away in the Rovers back room. But after engaging in some banter with pub co-owner Daisy Midgeley, he was seen making notes that showed him seemingly trying to link Dee-Dee to Joel's murder after questioning her father Ed and uncle Ronnie.

His notes included wondering where Dee-Dee was on September 27th and who she was with but as he made a note about Dee-Dee's brother Michael Bailey, he made a mistake which was picked up by fans.

@CaroleAnn1982 said: "Kit had spelled Michael Bailey's name incorrectly on that list #corrie." @ConversationStr joked: "Always thought Kit was a wrong ‘Un, but now it turns out he’s one of those people who can’t spell Michael properly. Well that just seals it." @rebeccag239 replied: "RUDE." @xcarlaconnorx added: "Also who casually writes in all caps? Very suspicious."
