BBC Strictly Come Dancing's Pete Wicks says 'go away' after Jowita Przystal's 'surprise'

by · Manchester Evening News

Pete Wicks was left jokingly telling Jowita Przystal to 'go away' after her surprise didn't impress him all that much. The pair have been busy in training for their next Strictly Come Dancing performance which will be seen on Saturday night (October 26).

It comes after podcast host and reality star Pete faced the notoriously difficult rumba with his dance partner last weekend with the hopes of making it through to the show's iconic Halloween special, which also marks week six of the BBC One dance contest.

Pete admitted he was not a fan of the dance, which he and Jowita performed to the Oasis track 'Don't Look Back in Anger' while sporting a 'wet' look, and after his performance, the pair achieved a score of 22 having failed to catch the attention of all of the judges.

But it didn't stop them being automatically sent through to another week of the hit dance show where they'll appear as the Joker and Harley Quinn during their Viennese Waltz to That’s Life by Frank Sinatra.

And it appears that despite having commitments away from the training room, including a night at the recent Pride of Britain Awards and Pete recording his podcast, Staying Relevant, with his best friend Sam Thompson, he and Jowita have been putting the work in as they were still in rehearsals at 10pm on Thursday evening (October 24).

However, as Pete filmed a video which was posted to Jowita's Instagram Story, the former TOWIE star didn't seem too happy as he said: "It's 10 o'clock on a Thursday and we've just finished training and Jowita has a surprise for me... I got quite excited until I saw what it was..."

He then called the professional dancer over and she was wearing a silver mask, only showing her nose and mouth. As she threw some moves around him, Pete said: "She's been dancing like that for the past 15 minutes which has been a struggle. Look at the... Go away you weird, weird borrower," before the video abruptly ended.

It was clearly all tongue-in-cheek and earlier the same day, the pair appeared on Strictly spin-off It Takes Two where they addressed their last performance in the ballroom that irked Judge Craig Revel Horwood over "illegal" lifts.

Pete said: "I don't think we should get any blame for that. As far as I'm concerned, that's the dance so far that I've enjoyed the most, surprising. I felt like I was just dancing as me rather than trying to remember steps, that's the first time I've done that. I was just going with it and felt like I wasn't trying to just dance without thinking about it. That's why we did it, it felt right."

Jowita also weighed in, suggesting the routine allowed Pete to perform beautifully without fretting about the technical aspects, asserting: "It was all about the feelings and that storyline."
