Barry Keoghan has been spotted for the first time on the set of the new Peaky Blinders film. The BAFTA-Award winning actor, who is known for starring in Saltburn, is set to join Cillian Murphy and the cast for the much anticipated movie that is heading to Netflix.

The hit BBC period drama is being turned into a feature-length film about the Birmingham gangsters, with Irish actor Barry set to play a new mystery role alongside the Shelby clan.

Seen filming in Yorkshire alongside Sophie Rundle and fellow newcomer Tim Roth, Barry, 32, could be seen donning a flat cap, grey suit and overcoat as he got into character.

The Saltburn star looked every inch the Peaky Blinder as he closely followed Sophie Rundle, who is reprising her role as Ada Thorne, into a building in Bradford as cameras rolled on the hotly anticipated Netflix film.

Sophie wore a red coat and skirt with matching lipstick and hat as she walked alongside an unknown actor called Kasper Hilton-Hille.

Tim Roth was also spotted arriving at the building carrying a gun before emerging with the leather bag Ada was carrying on the way in.

Netflix confirmed the new Peaky Blinders film was in the works earlier this year. Writer and creator Steven Knight said it would be an “explosive chapter” in the story with “no holds barred”.

Irish actor Murphy will reprise his role as gangster Tommy Shelby for the film, following the BBC drama which ran for six series from 2013 to 2022.

Taking to social media on May 4, Netflix posted a photo of the front page of a script called 'A Peaky Blinders Film'. The streamer said: "Tommy Shelby returns. A Peaky Blinders Film starring Cillian Murphy is coming to Netflix."

Knight said: “I’m genuinely thrilled that this movie is about to happen. It will be an explosive chapter in the Peaky Blinders story. No holds barred. Full-on Peaky Blinders at war.”
