Coronation Street's Dev actor left furious over 'stealing' accusations from co-star

Veteran Coronation Street star Jimi Harkashin reportedly reacted angrily after he was recently alleged to have stolen from a colleague whilst on set.

In an episode of their On The Sofa podcast last month, Jack P. Shepherd told fellow Corrie co-stars Colson Smith and Ben Price that a script supervisor had told him that Jimmi, who plays Dev Alahan on the soap, had reportedly took his toast while he had been looking away, as Corrie stars congregated in the canteen for their breakfast.

But now, as the trio returned for another episode of their podcast, Jack updated his two co-stars on the situation: "I had Dev collar me at work. He went 'Oy Shepherd' and I went 'what' and he went 'I ain't been nicking no f*****g toast' and I went 'sorry but the script supervisor says you have'.

"He went 'I know f*****g someone says I have, I haven't, I'm f*****g gluten intolerant, I don't bloody eat any of it. I don't go for it, I never go for it'," the Echo reports.

Wondering how he had found out that the trio had been talking about him on the podcast last month, Jimi told Jack that it was only when a fan of the soap approached him on a train that he discovered what he had been accused of.

Explaining the bizarre incident on the train, Jack added: "Some f***ing guy collared him on a train and went 'been nicking toast have you Dev?' and he thought he meant literally this instant that we're on the train that he's been nicking toast and he (Dev) went 'Excuse me! I've just been sat here.' and he went 'nicking toast aren't yer, that Jack P Shepherd has been saying you've been nicking toast at work off someone'.

But, as the pair caught up about the incident later on, he said that Jimmi saw the funny side and 'swears blind it wasn't him'.

Jimmi remains one of the soaps longest serving actors having first appeared on the cobbles nearly 25 years ago. Since November 1999 he has gone on to be a part of some of the biggest storylines on the street.
