ITV Coronation Street star David Platt's end predicted after 34 years in big plot twist

A heartbreaking departure could be on the horizon for a Coronation Street stalwart if recent fan theories hold water. David Platt has ignited concerns that his character may meet a tragic end following a significant plot twist on the ITV soap this week.

He appears to be on the brink of crossing paths with two villains, and viewers are fearful for the character. Given that one of the two recently orchestrated an attack on one character and left another in peril, fans fear David might be next in line for trouble on the show.

The revelation about individual who stole Damon Hay's money from the storage unit this week has fuelled speculation of a shocking exit from the show for David. He was revealed as the thief after his sister Sarah Platt's former partner Damon offered her the money to cover her daughter's medical expenses.

When the cash vanished, several characters were suspected, including newcomer Jesse Chadwick. However, when Damon's brother Harvey Gaskell discovered the stolen money, he was livid.

Convinced he was entitled to a share of the cash, he arranged for Damon to be assaulted in his cell and enlisted new villain Logan Radcliffe to intimidate Sarah. Logan invaded her flat under the impression she had the money, putting Sarah and Bethany in danger, reports the Mirror.

But when Sarah confided in David about the incident, viewers were shocked to see him stashing a bag of money in the cupboard under his stairs at home. This confirmed he was the culprit, and now he could be in grave danger.

With Sarah cautioning that her family could be targeted by Harvey seeking retribution, it was evident that David was alarmed.

After the recent devious acts of Harvey against Damon and the near miss with Sarah, the question on everyone’s mind is whether David Platt may be Harvey's next victim, following his theft of the money.

The tension reaches new heights as long-time viewers dwell on the possibility that there might be no escape for this iconic character who has grown up on the show since 1990.

Jack P Shepherd has portrayed David since 2000 but could the latest drama signal the end for his character after 34 years?

A worried fan voiced their concern saying, "Oh no how does he think he is going to get away with that. I wonder is David leaving Corrie?"

Another commented in dismay: "You fool David," while yet another suggested, "He'll be leaving Corrie for a while if he gets beaten up for nicking the money, think he's got away with it lol."
