When Is ‘Venom: The Last Dance’ Coming To Streaming And Netflix?

Venom: The Last Dance—starring Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock and his alien symbiote alter-ego—is new in theaters this week. When is it coming to streaming?

Venom: The Last Dance—is the third and presumably last movie in the Venom trilogy, which began in 2018 and continued in 2022 in Venom: Let There Be Carnage. Portrayed as a villain in director Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy and an antihero in the Venom trilogy, the gooey symbiote is a member of the Spider-Man universe.

The official logline for Venom: The Last Dance reads, “Eddie and Venom are on the run. Hunted by both of their worlds and with the net closing in, the duo are forced into a devastating decision that will bring the curtains down on Venom and Eddie's last dance.”

Rated PG-13, Venom: The Last Dance is written and directed by Kelly Marcel and also stars Juno Temple, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Stephen Graham.

The only way you can see Venom: The Last Dance right now is in theaters, so check local listings for showtimes. The film plays in previews Thursday and opens in theaters nationwide on Friday.

The first stop for Venom: The Last Dance for home viewing will be on digital streaming via premium video on demand. While some studios take a wait-and-see approach to determine when their films make their PVOD and streaming video on demand debuts—with the determining factor being how good or poorly it performs at the box office—some have more of a set pattern they follow.

In the case of Sony Pictures Entertainment, which is the parent company of Venom: The Last Dance’s studio Columbia Pictures, there’s a standard window between its film’s theatrical and PVOD releases is about six weeks.

As an example, Sony’s smash action comedy Bad Boys: Ride or Die opened in theaters on June 7 and debuted on PVOD release about six weeks later, on July 23. In addition, Sony’s animated family hit The Garfield Movie opened in theaters on May 24 and debuted roughly six weeks later on PVOD on July 9.

As such, viewers can expect to purchase or rent Venom: The Last Dance on PVOD sometime around Friday, December 6. Since films generally debut on Tuesdays and Fridays, the PVOD release of the third Venom movie could also debut on December 3 or 9.

When Will ‘Venom: The Last Dance’ Debut On Netflix?

Sony Pictures Entertainment has a deal with Netflix, which gives the streaming service the opportunity to be the first to exhibit Sony’s film on streaming video on demand.

The typical streaming window for Sony’s films from the time they open in theaters to their debut on SVOD is roughly days.

Once again using Bad Boys: Ride or Die and The Garfield Movie as examples, both films followed a 90-day theatrical opening to SVOD release pattern on Netflix.

Going by the same 90-day release pattern, viewers can expect Venom: The Last Dance to debut on Netflix sometime around Friday, January 24, 2025, or Tuesday, January 28, 2025, since new film releases typically debut on Tuesdays and Fridays.

Venom: The Last Dance plays in previews Thursday and opens on Friday in theaters nationwide.
