Eamonn Holmes has found new love following his split from Ruth Langsford, diving into a fresh relationship.

Ruth and Eamonn, who were both presenters on This Morning, went public with their surprising separation in May. Eamonn, 64, didn't take long to find romance again and has been romantically linked with Katie Alexander, 42.

The duo took off for a Mediterranean cruise to bask in some late-summer sun and relaxation.

However, it's been disclosed that the seemingly romantic getaway was actually part of a paid gig for the GB News host, reports the Mirror. He secured a lucrative contract as an ambassador for the travel firm Not Just Travel.

An insider told Mail Online: "While it looked like Eamonn had whisked Katie off on a no-expense-spared trip away, it didn't actually cost him a penny. It was part of his deal with Not Just Travel so, if anything, he was actually paid to go which was very fortuitous indeed, especially because he could take a plus one with him."

The source also mentioned that there was "an element of work" involved as Eamonn was required to "film some segments to promote the company". They added: "But the fact he didn't pay certainly lessens the whole idea it was a romantic trip away," and noted, "Katie didn't seem to mind though, it was a lovely, sunny break for her as they enjoy their first throes of love."

Ruth Langsford is reportedly stunned by Eamonn Holmes' new love interest, as told to OK! earlier this month. A source said: "She's just trying to get on with life and be around good friends, she's partying through the pain and is trying to get through it.

"Ruth is distracting herself and doing things that make her happy keeping busy and being around friends, family and work is the only way she can get through it."

Meanwhile, Eamonn appears to be fully investing in his blossoming relationship, as he and his partner Katie are believed to be set to move in together. Here's a look back at their initial meeting....

First encounter

It is believed that the spark between Eamonn and Katie ignited nine years prior to his split from Ruth, starting with a Twitter exchange in 2015, when Katie replied to one of Eamonn's tweets. The timeline of when this interaction turned into friendship is hazy, however, reports suggest Ruth discovered within the year before their breakup that Eamonn had been showering Katie with presents, including taking her and her children on a trip to a safari park and providing them tickets for a Beyonce performance.

In October last year, eight months before his breakup with Ruth, Eamonn, who is facing health challenges and now struggles with mobility, journeyed up to Yorkshire to front a charity event linked to Katie's work. Mail Online reports that George, Katie's former husband, hinted that she and Eamonn 'were meeting up' regularly after his marriage to Katie dissolved in 2022.

Whispers have surfaced suggesting that Katie often stayed at a hotel in Surrey, a mere 10 minutes from the Holmes-Langsford family residence in Weybridge, well before the public heard of their split. While Ruth's associates claim ignorance of such events, they convey that Ruth continues to wear her wedding rings and is allegedly enduring torturous times due to the attention drawn to her estranged spouse and his new companion.

"Each time they are seen or mentioned together, it causes her pain," states Mail Online.

Regular encounters

George Alexander, bar proprietor and father to two children with Katie, recently spoke out, indicating he once felt like the "luckiest man alive" when she accepted his proposal. Now 53, George shared: "I have a lot of sympathy for Ruth. I had my heart broken when my marriage to Katie ended. It took me a couple of years to recover. I know how distraught Ruth must be feeling. She's going through what I did after our marriage ended. Katie has a heart, so will feel bad about Ruth."

George was the one to spill the beans about how Eamonn and Katie first connected, saying, "She was not swooning over him like he was George Clooney, but she liked being on social media, and one day said she'd had a reply from him," and noting that Katie had engaged with one of his posts which prompted Eamonn to get in touch. He brushed off the connection at first: "She'd commented on one of his posts and Eamonn got in touch. I must admit I laughed it off."

He also disclosed that their split was without hard feelings and only later did he learn that Katie, now a relationship therapist, was in communication with Eamonn post-divorce, sharing, "I was surprised by it. Katie would go and visit him. It was a regular pattern."

Eamonn is preparing to take the next step with Katie as they seek their own place together. A source revealed to The Sun: "Katie's assured him she's in it for the long haul and they're both settling down nicely. They've been spending so much time at his Kingston flat that they're even looking to move in together permanently."

Eamonn, currently living in a rented property deemed "too small" and "too expensive", is keen to relocate, according to the source. They have their sights set on a more private country house with plenty of land.

"With that in mind, they're really keen to move into a bigger place in the country with lots of land. Katie will obviously be there to care for Eamonn as he grows older and thinks it's best to do that somewhere without prying eyes," concluded the source.

Last week, the couple were seen embarking on their lavish cruise, with relationship therapist Katie spotted manoeuvring Eamonn's walking frame through the departure lounge as he trailed behind in a wheelchair.

This followed a source revealing to The Mirror that Eamonn and Katie are "serious" about their blossoming romance. They stated: "Katie is very excited about the prospect of a trip away with Eamonn. He works hard at GB News and with his rehab so she is looking forward to them having some time on their own relaxing away from everything. But it was also be a clear sign to everyone that they are serious about their growing relationship."
