Celebrity chef and author Nigella Lawson is starring in Greggs' debut Christmas advert. Revered for her luxurious recipes and sophisticated TV shows, Nigella is seen returning to her enchantingly lit home complete with a Christmas tree adorned with Greggs decorations.
She enthuses about the festive bake rejoicing in its "rapturous riot of flavour" and hails it as a triumphant combination of "succulent filling, creamy sauce, all wrapped up in the flakiest of flaky pastries, in one or both hands, say hello to the Greggs festive bakes."She then takes a bit out of the treat.
As the commercial concludes, viewers are treated to a mouth-watering display of the Greggs Christmas range, culminating in a platter of the bakery's vegan festive bakes.
The advert comes despite recent media speculation that despite appearing in the advert, she hadn't actually endorsed Greggs' famed sausage rolls. The high street bakery brand said these were "inaccurate" claims, stating that the advertising partnership was solely about promoting Greggs' Christmas offerings and that an endorsement of their sausage rolls was never on the table, reports Bristol Live.
Nigella said: "As a longtime fan of Greggs, and especially their sausage rolls, I'm thrilled to be collaborating with them to celebrate the return of the iconic Christmas menu. Greggs brings joy wherever and whenever you choose to enjoy it, and I'm delighted to be sharing this with the nation this Christmas."
Since the publication of her first cookbook 'How To Eat' in 1998 through to the 2020 hit 'Cook, Eat, Repeat', along with their successful TV spin-offs, Nigella Lawson has garnered a devoted following. Greggs the bakery chain has reported a surge in sales over 10% over recent weeks as it pushes on with its impressive expansion across the UK.
Already this year, it has opened more than 150 outlets and now has almost 2,560 shops nationwide as of the end of September. The famed bakery brand has also ventured into the bubbly business, launching its inaugural champagne bar where patrons can match premium fizz with a variety of baked goods and rolls.
The exclusive pop-up debuted inside Fenwick's Newcastle store on October 24, and it will stay open until the end of the year presenting options from a £10 glass of Ca' di Alte Prosecco to £75 for a glass of Louis Roederer Cristal flute – with full bottles available at £425.
This follows the brand's "fine dining" experience last year at the same location, pairing their renowned festive bake with sophisticated sides like duck fat roast potatoes, smoked pancetta, chestnuts, and sprouts, drawing in over 8,000 diners in just a month. Greggs enthusiasts can look forward to this year's Christmas menu, gracing stores nationally from Thursday.
