Today (September 19) marks two years since the Queen's funeral – and Her Majesty is very missed by royal fans.

Queen Elizabeth II sadly passed away on September 8, 2022, after 70 years on the throne. She was aged 96 and had been working serving the country all the way up to the end.

After laying in state in London so members of the public could pay their respects, Queen Elizabeth was buried with Prince Philip at The King George VI Memorial Chapel 11 days later.

Her funeral was watched by a staggering 4.1billion viewers worldwide, but there was one devastating thing some people may have missed on the emotional day.

A fan of the late monarch took to X to say: "As we approach the second anniversary of our much loved late Queens passing... I wanted to share my favourite (and the most heart breaking) part of her funeral. Her beloved fell pony Emma, standing by and saying her final goodbye to her friend."

The tweet garnered more than 22,500 views and many admitted the moving moment had brought them to tears at the time – and continues to do so to this very day.

One responder said: "Oh that made me cry so much! The Corgis as well, it was heartbreaking." Another said: "Couldn't agree more. Seeing Emma respectfully for her Queen. Was heartbreaking."

A third wrote: "Seeing Emma wearing the Late Queen's headscarf was the thing that finished me." And the original poster added: "Me too. Such a thoughtful and moving thing to do."

Queen Elizabeth II's pony, named Emma, was a Fell pony, a breed native to northern England known for its hardiness and versatility. Emma, whose full name is Carltonlima Emma, played a special role on the day of the Queen's funeral.

She poignantly stood on the grounds of Windsor Castle, which was a touching tribute to the late monarch who was well known for her lifelong passion for horses and equestrian activities.

Following the funeral, on November 30, 2022, the late Queen's pony Carltonlima Emma was voted Agria Horse of a Lifetime at the 2022 Horse & Hound Awards.
