Three Balamory actors have been snapped enjoying a cosy reunion together ahead of the iconic BBC children show's reboot.

It was announced earlier this month that the beloved Scottish kids programme will return to CBeebies in 2026 for two new seasons over 20 years on from when it was last filmed, with some of the old characters expected to make an appearance.

Balamory stars Andrew Agnew, 48, who plays PC Plum, Juliet Cadzow, 73, better known as Edie McCredie, and the iconic Miss Hoolie played by Julie Wilson Nimmo, 52, have been spotted enjoying a catch-up together in an image which was reposted to a Balamory fan page on Instagram.

The three actors, who starred in the Bafta-winning series which ran from 2002 until 2005, have not yet confirmed their return for the new series but fans are remaining hopeful.

One fan took to the comments to write underneath the post: "They need to come back for Balamory reboot!"

The programme, which was based on the fictional pastel-hued island of Balamory, was cancelled after four seasons and 254 episodes but the BBC confirmed earlier this month it will be making an iconic return two decades on.

When the news first broke, Miss Hoolie actress Julie, who is married to Still Game's co-writer and star Greg Hemphill, 54, declared it as the 'best news ever', dubbing it to be even 'bigger than the Oasis reunion'.

The actress from East Kilbride said: "I carry a piece of Miss Hoolie with me every day – she changed my life and will always be a huge part of it.

"I would be up for going back if Brian Jameson is directing and is producing with Helen Doherty. I met some of my best friends on Balamory and Andrew is even godfather to our youngest son, Chevy.

"If they brought back the old cast alongside new characters then I would be over the moon. It would be like a family reunion."
