Penélope Cruz and Salma Hayek reunited on the red carpet on Tuesday for WSJ. Magazine’s 14th annual Innovator Awards, held at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City. The “Bandidas” costars posed for photographers, offering a visual contrast in silver and red eveningwear that underscored their individual styles.

She opted for a custom formfitting gown by Balenciaga in a shimmering silver tone from the winter 2024 collection. The dress featured a low-cut top with a draped design, adding subtle movement and texture to the structured silhouette. A thigh-high slit along one side introduced a bold accent to the look, revealing her metallic, strappy high heels beneath. The floor-length hem and fitted design accentuated her figure.

Beside her, Hayek, styled by Rebecca Corbin Murray showcased a tailored red gown that emphasized a minimalist but impactful look. The dress was strapless with a floor-length cut, highlighting a structured waist that contributed to the overall silhouette. Hayek paired the gown with a cropped black wrap, providing an additional layer to the otherwise streamlined design. She completed her outfit with a black clutch, reinforcing the modern aesthetic with understated accessories.

“I used this collection as a platform for creative expression, really focusing and putting the spotlight on my personal style,” Demna said in a phone interview with WWD’s Miles Socha on the brand’s fall 2024 collection the night before the show.
