Ruth Langsford gushes over 'greatest love' 5 months after Eamonn Holmes split

Five months following the announcement of their separation, Ruth Langsford has opened up about her intentions to learn from her life experiences and evade past errors. Ruth and Eamonn Holmes, who enjoyed a 14-year marriage, took their fans by surprise this May when they confirmed their divorce was underway, speaking through a representation.

Although Ruth hasn't publicly discussed the split, she still wears her wedding ring amidst the divorce formalities, mirroring Eamonn, who's reportedly begun a new chapter with 42 year old Katie Alexander.

In an emotional contemplation on progressing beyond previous missteps, Ruth remarked in Woman and Home Magazine: "I have many regrets, but I try not to dwell on them. You can't go back and change things."

She accentuated moving forward by adding, "You can just go forward and not make the same mistakes again."

When prompted about her "greatest love", Ruth effusively talked about her son Jack, aged 22, and her rescue dog Maggie. "My gorgeous son Jack, who is the most delightful, caring and wonderful young man. After him, it's got to be my Maggie, our rescue dog. I thought I never wanted a dog. I didn't know I could love an animal as much as I love her, but I do," she expressed, reports Lancs Live.

Jack is Ruth's sole child, whereas Eamonn has three older children from his former relationship with Gabrielle Holmes.

Despite the seemingly final nature of their breakup, relationship expert Jesper Jensen from ExpertsEnAmour has offered insights into what Eamonn and Ruth could ponder should they ever consider a romantic reconciliation. Jesper elaborated: "Eamonn and Ruth have a history, and sometimes that can work in your favour if both have worked through past issues. For any chance of getting back together, there needs to be a genuine desire to forgive, heal, and rebuild trust."

He cautioned that neglecting these aspects would likely cause old issues to emerge anew.

Reflecting on Eamonn's new chapter in love, Jesper added: "When someone is emotionally ready, the timing may not matter as much as it seems."

"Eamonn's experience with Ruth will shape his approach with his new partner. If he's really reflected on his past relationship, this could be a good foundation, but only if both partners are willing to deal with any emotional baggage."
