Liam Payne's partner, Kate Cassidy, took to social media to share the reasons for leaving him alone in Argentina before his tragic death. Liam's death was confirmed on Wednesday, October 16.

The ex-One Direction member was on holiday in Buenos Aires with Kate when he tragically fell from the third floor of a hotel. It is understood that she was not with him at the time he died.

Liam found fame in 2011 on The X Factor, where Simon Cowell formed the globally famous band with Louis Tomlinson, Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, and Niall Horan.

The couple were enjoying a holiday in Argentina after Liam made an appearance at a concert by Niall, his former bandmate. But Kate expressed her eagerness to return home, posting a TikTok video explaining her journey back to Florida, as reported by the Mirror.

She said: "I was so ready to leave. Love South America, but I hate staying in one place for too long and we were supposed to be there for five days, turned into two weeks and I was just like, 'I need to go home'," reports the Express.

While Liam chose not to accompany her, Kate did not elaborate on his reasons. Instead, she shared her indulgent flight experience, complete with a steak dinner.

She also showed off her boarding pass, humorously pointing out her seat number "1D," in reference to Liam's band. Additionally, Kate said she usually travels with a Squishmellow but had left it with Liam.

Tragedy struck just 48 hours after a social media update, as Liam fell from the third floor of his hotel building. Emergency services including police officers, firefighters, and paramedics were called to the scene following the distressing incident.

Reports suggest that the police were initially called to address an incident involving a man acting violently at the hotel, possibly under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

The tragic discovery was made in the hotel's internal courtyard, with hotel management reportedly alerting the authorities to the scene.

Detailing the incident, a local ambulance chief told TN: "At 17.04 through the 911 integrated public safety system, we were alerted of a person who was in an internal courtyard of the management of a south house hotel."

He added: "By 17.11 a SAME medical crew was on site confirming the mortality of the individual and it became clear later on that he was a vocalist with a band. Tragically, he sustained injuries that rendered survival impossible."
