Coleen Nolan has opened up about her sister Linda Nolan's brave decision to remain uninformed about the time she may have left as she continues her fight against breast cancer, which has now spread to her brain, bones, and liver. The 59 year old former Nolans singer felt compelled to share her family's challenges after Sir Chris Hoy announced his terminal cancer diagnosis.

Having lost another sister, Bernie Nolan, to breast cancer in 2013, Coleen deeply understands the anguish that Sir Chris and his family are facing.

During the Loose Women episode on Tuesday (October 22), Coleen spoke candidly to the panel about the emotional turmoil families like hers and Sir Chris Hoy's go through. She then focused on her sister Linda's courageous battle, expressing her admiration for Linda's resilience to the panel, audience, and viewers at home: "I know my sister Linda at the moment, who's been amazing and is still amazing, I'm in awe of her every day."

Coleen went on to share Linda's approach to her prognosis: "But I know, for her, one of the things she doesn't want to know is how long she's got left. Because she feels that once she's given that prognosis that it would probably make her just give up trying to live", as reported by the Mirror. With evident emotion, Coleen explained that Linda's ongoing treatment is what gives her the strength to keep fighting: "At the moment, she's still having treatment - and that's what's keeping her going you know - 'as long as they're still going to treat me then I'm going to keep on going'."

Despite Linda's optimistic outlook and her active treatment, her sister Coleen has observed moments when Linda has wrestled with the idea of not being around much longer. In an emotional disclosure, Coleen remarked on Linda's more open conversations about her potential limited time left, noting: "But she does say more often than not now, she'll say things like 'well no, let's do that this week because I might not be here next week.' Or she'll say she's 'now doing more because she's living each day like it might be my last day' and 'I might not have tomorrow' so that mindset has changed.", reports the Daily Record.

The Nolan sisters, well-known for their contributions to the entertainment industry, have endured numerous cancer battles within the family.

They've seen their fair share of challenges: Coleen previously used cream to treat skin cancer, and another sister, Anne, has successfully battled the disease and is currently cancer-free. Despite being accustomed to the disease's cruel reality, Coleen admitted to still feeling "shocked" upon hearing others' cancer diagnoses, expressing her surprise at individuals like Chris who appear physically fit yet are afflicted by such conditions.

Sharing with her co-hosts, she said: "I was still shocked to learn about Chris, you know he was such a fit and athletic man that you just don't think this can happen."
