GOAT box office Day 14: Vijay's film sees big drop, mints Rs 2.8 crore in India

Thalapathy Vijay and director Venkat Prabhu's GOAT aka The Greatest of All Time completed two weeks in theatres and is now inching towards Rs 450 crore worldwide. The film, however, saw a massive drop in numbers on Day 14 at the domestic box office. For the first time since its release, GOAT earned less than Rs 3 crore nett in India. Though the drop in numbers is quite expected, the collection might pick up pace during its third weekend in theatres.

GOAT released in theatres on September 5 in multiple languages amid massive anticipation. The film grossed Rs 413 crore worldwide in just 13 days.

On September 19, GOAT is estimated to have earned approximately Rs 2.85 crore (nett) in the country. Going by the tracking website, Sacnilk, the Tamil version contributed a major share of Rs 2.5 crore to Day 14 numbers in India. The film saw a 59 per cent drop in collection on Wednesday, September 19.

The 14-day total collection of GOAT now stands at Rs 229.45 crore nett at the domestic box office. While the Tamil version collected Rs 203.45 crore, the Hindi and Telugu versions raked in Rs 14.6 crore and Rs 10.9 crore, respectively.

In 14 days, GOAT is said to have earned Rs 421 crore worldwide and is likely to enter the Rs 450-crore club by the end of this weekend.

Directed by Venkat Prabhu, GOAT is an espionage spy thriller featuring Vijay in two roles. The ensemble cast includes Prashanth, Prabhudheva, Ajmal Ameer, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Sneha, Laila, Mohan and Jayaram in pivotal roles.
