Bihar's folk icon Sharda Sinha critical, on ventilator support

Renowned folk singer Sharda Sinha, known as Bihar Kokila, is in critical condition and on ventilator support. Her son, Anshuman Sinha, has been updating fans on her health via social media, urging prayers for her recovery.

Veteran folk singer Sharda Sinha is admitted to the hospital. The Padma Bhushan awardee is critical and on ventilator support. Her son Anshuman Sinha shared her health update on social media.

Anshuman posted a video update on social media, sharing his mother’s health status. He mentioned her critical condition and urged everyone to pray for her speedy recovery.

Previously, Sinha was treated at AIIMS, Delhi. Her son has been regularly sharing her health updates on social media.

As Sinha continues to receive treatment at the hospital, her son released a new song, Dukhwa Mitayin Chhathi Maiya, ahead of Chhath 2024. Several social media users prayed for Sinha's speedy recovery in the comment section.

Sharda Sinha, also known as Bihar Kokila, is an acclaimed Indian folk singer, celebrated for her contribution to Bhojpuri, Maithili, and Magahi music. She has played a significant role in popularising Bihar's traditional music. Some of her most famous songs include Kahe Toh Se Sajna and Pehle Pahil Hum Kayeni. She was honoured with the Padma Bhushan in 2018 for her contributions to Indian music and culture.
