Keanu Reeves fans have actor and producer Eva Longoria to thank for the success of the John Wick franchise. The billion-dollar franchise is an actioner that single-handedly resurrected Reeves' languishing film career, catapulting him to superstardom after the Matrix series. And now, John Wick producers have disclosed that it was actor Eva who came through to fill the financing gap when the funding for the film fell through.

On the film's tenth anniversary, director-producer Chad Stahelski told Business Insider, "We were less than a week out, and we lost almost $6 million on a gap financing. We were financing independently to get the bond, but one of the investors couldn’t raise the money in time,”

“She (Eva) came to the rescue, and she provided the gap financing, literally less than 24 hours before we had to lock the doors on the movie and walk away,” stated Stahelski.

Safe to say, the investment has paid back, with the John Wick franchise ultimately minting over a billion dollars globally.

The last installment of the John Wick franchise, John Wick: Chapter 4, released last year to critical and commercial acclaim.
