Director Prithviraj Sukumaran's L2: Empuraan, starring Mohanlal, is all set to release in theatres in March 2025. The makers announced the release date with a new poster.

Actor and director Prithviraj Sukumaran's upcoming film, L2: Empuraan has a release date locked in. On November 1, the makers shared a new poster and announced that the film will release in theatres on March 27, 2025. Starring Mohanlal, the film is a sequel to the duo's superhit flick, Lucifer, which was remade in multiple languages. L2: Empuraan is one of the most anticipated sequels in Indian cinema.
Mohanlal, who plays the role of Stephen Nedumpally aka Khureshi Abraam in the film, shared the poster and wrote, "#L2E #EMPURAAN The 2nd instalment of the #Lucifer franchise hits cinemas world wide on 27th March 2025! (sic)."

Previously, the makers shared the poster of Prithviraj's look as Zayed Masood. He will be repising his role as the confidante of Mohanlal's Khureshi Abraam. It is said that Prithviraj will have a longer screen time in the sequel.
L2: Empuraan features an ensemble cast including Tovino Thomas, Indrajith Sukumaran, Manju Warrier, Saniya Iyappan, Arjun Das, Saikumar, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Sachin Khedekar and Baiju Santhosh. The film will release in five languages. Cinematographer Sujith Vaassudev, composer Deepak Dev and editor Akhilesh Mohan are part of the technical team.
