Telugu actor Anushka Shetty, known for her role in Baahubali, will soon star in the highly-anticipated film Ghaati. After sharing an intriguing poster on her birthday, November 7, the makers of the action-crime drama released a short clip teasing the actor's fierce role. The film is directed by Krish Jagarlamudi.

The caption with the teaser read, "Fierce and menacing. Witness ‘The Queen’ @anushkashettyofficial breathing fire #GhaatiGlimpse out now! #GHAATI in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada and Malayalam #HappyBirthdayAnushkaShetty (sic)."

The glimpse showcases Anushka in a rural setting, surrounded by valleys. Her attire—a saree, accessories, and a tattooed forearm—suggests she belongs to a local forest tribe. The clip shows her boarding a bus armed with a hand-saw. She then brutally beheads a man on the bus, a display of anger reminiscent of her roles in Baahubali and Rudramadevi. As she walks back to a hut, carrying the severed head and lighting a chillum (smoking pipe), the scene hints at a life steeped in crime and narcotics, seemingly a way of life for this character.

Set against a dark and gripping narrative, Ghaati explores the transformation of a woman from victim to criminal mastermind, involved in the illicit cannabis trade. The phrases "victim, criminal, legend," as seen on the previously released poster, and the recent glimpse further solidify this theme. The tribal-inspired background score in the glimpse hints at the character's roots before her rise to power as the "Queen of the Valley," as suggested by the promotional content. The film will be released in five languages - Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi.

Anushka was last seen in Miss Shetty Mr Polishetty (2023), a romantic comedy where she starred opposite Naveen Polishetty. The official release date of Ghaati, which marks the second collaboration between Anushka and Krish, is yet to be announced.
