Suriya's Kanguva co-star urges him to join politics, takes a dig at Vijay

The audio launch of actor Suriya's upcoming film Kanguva grabbed attention after actor-director Bose Venkat stirred controversy with his remarks on actors entering politics.

The Kanguva audio launch on October 26 stirred emotions after actor-director Bose Venkat’s comments on stars joining politics. During his speech at the event, Venkat requested Suriya to enter politics and took a jab at Vijay. Venkat, who recently directed Sir, shared, “A superstar should lead their fans, just like Suriya does with his beloved fans."

What began as a calm reflection on Suriya's bond with his fans quickly took an intriguing turn. Bose Venkat remarked, “Guide your fans toward righteousness. Encourage them to be benevolent, respect others, live fulfilling lives, and provide them with education and the wisdom to discern right from wrong. Only then should one consider entering politics.”

His statement notably came a day before the inaugural mass rally for actor-politician Vijay’s party, Tamika’s Vettri Kazhagam.

Bose Venkat attempted to soften the reactions by stating that leaders can emerge from any background. However, he quickly returned to referencing Vijay in his speech, asserting, “A leader cannot be born by treating your fans as fools. Educate them and encourage them to study. Suriya sir, you should consider entering politics.”

A segment of the fans were not pleased with Venkat's speech, especially with the highly anticipated debut meeting of Vijay’s party approaching.

Kanguva is releasing on October 31 on the occasion of Diwali.
