Rajinikanth discharged from Chennai hospital after a successful heart procedure

Veteran actor Rajinikanth was admitted to the hospital in Chennai on October 1. He has now been discharged after a successful treatment.

Superstar Rajinikanth's fans have been worried ever since news of him being hospitalised have come out. The veteran actor was admitted to a hospital on Monday evening in Chennai. This news came out to be a big shock. Everyone wanted to know what exactly happened and later we saw Apollo hospitals revealed that the actor had a swelling in the main blood vessel leaving his heart. They also mentioned in their official note that his condition is now better and the actor will be discharged in the next two days.

Rajinikanth gets discharged from the hospital

Now, the actor has been discharged from the hospital. He underwent an elective procedure in his heart to treat swelling in a blood vessel and a stent was placed in the aorta using the transcatheter method. He had a successful surgery on October 1 and on October 3 at 11 pm, he was discharged from the hospital.

As per reports, superstar Rajinikanth has been advised to rest by his doctors for a couple of weeks. He will reportedly resume work on director Lokesh Kanagaraj's Coolie on after the doctors give him a go ahead. The film also stars Shruti Haasan, Sivakarthikeyan, Nagarjuna Akkineni, and Upendra Rao. Talking about his upcoming film, he will be seen in Vettaiyan directed by TJ Gnanavel.

The film also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, Manju Warrier, Rana Daggubati, and Ritika Singh. This is Amitabh Bachchan's debut in the Tamil film industry. The movie will release on October 11. It will clash with Alia Bhatt and Vedang Raina starrer Jigra. Rajkummar Rao and Triptii Dimri starrer Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video is also releasing on the same date.

Earlier, the official statement shared by Apollo hospitals read, "Mr Rajinikanth was admitted to Apollo Hospitals, Greams Road, on 30th September 2024. He had a swelling in the main blood vessel leaving his heart (aorta), which was treated by a non surgical, transcathether method. Senior interventional Cardiologist, Dr Sai Satish placed a stent in the aorta completely sealing off the swelling (Endovascular Repair). We would like to let his well-wishers and fans know that the procedure went, as planned. Mr Rajinikanth is stable and is doing well. He should be home in two days. (sic)."
