While her work is often discussed, last year, on Koffee With Karan, Sharmila Tagore made a shocking revelation. The Waqt actress revealed that she was diagnosed with cancer. It was also the reason why she had to take a break from acting. On Karan's chat show, Tagore revealed that was also the reason why she couldn't be a part of his 2023 movie, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani.

However, due to her cancer, she wouldn't take up the role. Karan told the actress how he regrets not being able to work with her. About the same, Tagore once told Indian Express that it was the peak of COVID and everyone was just grappling with the pandemic and vaccines weren't there either. After her cancer, she didn't want to take any risk.
