Gay Byrne's daughter pays tribute to RTE legend on anniversary as she shares never before seen photo
by Sandra Mallon · Irish MirrorThe daughter of late RTE host Gay Byrne has said her father was her “go to dad” who “always gave great advice” as she marks the fifth anniversary of his death.
The Late Late Show presenter died in November 2019 after battling prostate cancer. He was 85-years-old.
On Monday, Crona paid tribute to her legendary father, saying she misses him every day.

She said: “Where have the last 5 years gone? You were one in a million, and we were so proud to call you dad.
“You are always missed as you were the go to dad who always gave great advice and you were always there for me. We love you loads and think about you every day.”
Crona also shared a new picture of the father-daughter duo on her social media, with a proud Gay smiling beside his daughter for the picture.
The Late Late Show also paid tribute to Gay on their social media on Monday morning.
Captioning a black and white picture of a Gay while he was hosting the Friday night chat show, they wrote: “Remembering Gay Byrne on the fifth anniversary of his death.”
Gay’s other daughter Suzy previously revealed she goes to her dad’s grave in Sutton and talks to him.
“I talk to him at the grave and get upset sometimes, thinking, ‘I hope I’m doing things right’. I’d love to believe that he can see the kids, that we are all doing okay, and mum too is still going well more than four years after he left us.”
