Woman divorces husband two weeks after wedding, having heard about stag party
by Paige Freshwater · Irish MirrorWhile most brides spend hours dreaming about their wedding day, one woman couldn't help but fantasise about her divorce.
The woman organised a destination wedding with the father of her child - but after hearing about what happened on his stag do, she wanted to call the entire thing off. As the flights, hotel, and service had already been paid for, her dad 'forced' her to fake a smile and go through with it.
Sharing the bride's story on Reddit, her friend said: "She had a destination wedding, stupid expensive with this guy who she already had a rocky relationship with, they had a child together - like one-year-old?

"He cheated on her multiple times at his bachelor party. She tried to call the wedding off like three days before they were set to leave. Her dad basically said 'Nope, everything’s paid for already'. It was a destination wedding so all of the guests had already bought their airline tickets and booked their stay."
People who get married and divorce in less than 3 months - what happened???

Just two weeks after the wedding day, and shortly after arriving back home, the bride got in touch with a lawyer and filed for divorce. The friend added: "I think part of this too was just societal pressure, like people who have been together for so long and share a child, they feel 'forced'."
Condemning the dad, one disgusted user said: "At that point if you can't cancel bookings, apologise to everyone and try and have a group holiday instead. Just scrap the ceremony." Another user added: "What a s****y dad. I don't have a good relationship with mine, but if I had ever expressed doubt, no amount of money would have stopped him from helping me get out of the wedding."
A third user said: "When my dad was walking me down the aisle at my wedding, he turned to me and said 'You know, it’s not too late to back out if you want'. Such a wonderful man. I did get married—still happily so after 39 years."
Sharing their own story, another user explained how her marriage ended less than a year after saying her 'I dos'. She said: "My first hubs slept with his best friend and she was also his grooms woman.I was fine with his bestie being a girl. I trusted him, didn't matter if I trusted her. Took me awhile to see it, but divorced within a year.
"Think he's actually more poly, I hate that he wasn't honest with himself and could have spared me and my son the heartache. We would have still been friends in that case. I was happy it was quick, he was an awesome stepdad to my son, I still don't think he thinks about us however. It was hard on my boy but found a very loving husband soon after. It's been 24 years now. Still happy."
