Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? viewers baffled as they complain minutes into show
by Laura CarrenoShowbiz & TV Reporter, Jennie BuzagloShowbiz & TV Reporter · Irish MirrorViewers tuned into this Sunday night's edition (November 3) of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? with the same complaint.
Presenter Jeremy Clarkson was back in the hosting seat of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire on ITV, presenting the famed game show and introducing the first contestant, Doug Cheetham from Kidderminster.
Despite the anticipation, confusion quickly set in amongst viewers mere moments into the show, sparking debate over whether they were witnessing a previously seen episode or fresh content, as the 39th series of the popular programme concluded in October, 2024.

Perplexed viewers took to social media such as Twitter, now X, as one of them questioned: "Is this a new episode? " while another commented: "I thought this had finished last week." A third was unsure: "Are they mixing up new and old episodes? I think freeview tells me this is series 20 episodes 17?"
Quandaries deepened with comments such as "How is this a new episode? They have Covid screens between the contestants," and musings about an episode potentially overlooked: "They must have forgotten this episode cos last week it ended another series", reports the Express.
Another speculated on the episode's origins, remarking: "This must have been an episode recorded in early 2022 that has been sat on the shelf all this time. Notice the lack of handshakes. Odd why ITV didn't put it out with the other episodes of the series."
Clarity eventually prevailed as an account on X clarified: "If you're confused about the episode of #WhoWantsToBeAMillionaire which are airing on ITV right now... they're old episodes (not connected to the series which finished a fortnight ago) which have been left on the shelf (as you can tell by the Covid screens)."
Jeremy Clarkson's future as the host of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? seems secure, with reports confirming he will continue on the popular quiz show. TV buffs are in for a treat as ITV has announced the return of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire Celebrity specials this winter, promising an exciting line-up of stars ready to raise funds for their chosen charities.
Sources close to the show are fuelling anticipation, suggesting that the upcoming specials might just be "the best season yet". The news follows shortly after the presenter of Clarkson's Farm shared his health scare, having undergone emergency heart surgery post a serious illness during his holiday.
Writing for the Sunday Times, Jeremy Clarkson recently recounted the frightening experience where he found himself unable to stand up from the breakfast table, questioning if his "limbs were working properly". Jeremy's health concerns didn't end there; he struggled with basic tasks such as swimming and walking. After experiencing a concerning "tightening in his chest" upon his return to Britain, he was rushed to the hospital by ambulance.
