Kate Middleton's four-word warning to her children that she uses in public

by · Irish Mirror

Kate Middleton is said to have a smart strategy to keep her children in check, according to an expert. A simple four-word caution seems to do the trick.

The young royals, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, are frequently seen behaving impeccably at public events. However, when they misbehave, Kate has a special phrase she uses to bring them back on track.

Royal author Tom Quinn reveals in his book 'Gilded Youth, An Intimate History of Growing Up in the Royal Family': "When Prince Louis misbehaved at the late Queen's Platinum Jubilee for example, by sticking his tongue out at his mother, Kate's reaction was praised by a team of expert commentators."

She reportedly tells them 'Let's take a break', which is a secret code that means much more than it appears, says a former Royal staffer. While insisting on good manners, Kate also recognises the importance of letting her children enjoy their childhood.

"Louis is an energetic child and clearly was unable to contain his excitement at being at a public event," a source told OK magazine, commenting on the family's attendance at the 2024 Trooping the Colour. "Kate doesn't worry about their behaviour too much. She loves to see them being kids.

Cheeky Prince Louis stole the show at the late Queen's Platinum Jubilee, and parents William and Kate were quick to acknowledge his antics in a touching message thanking everyone after the celebrations. "What a fantastic weekend of celebrations," the Cambridges wrote.

"Seeing people across the nation coming together with family, friends and loved ones has been extremely special. Thank you to everyone who turned out to show their gratitude to The Queen and her inspiring 70 years of leadership. From the crowds on the Mall to communities hosting street parties up and down the country, we hope you had a weekend to remember. We all had an incredible time, especially Louis...," they quipped, throwing in a cheeky side-eye emoji.

In guiding their brood, William and Kate are known for encouraging frank talks within the family, famously adopting a no-shouting edict. Insiders have spilled to The Sun that Kate is marginally more austere than Wills and that their nanny, Maria Teresa Turrion Borrallo, ensures she's always in sync with the duke and duchess's parental strategy.

A source close to the family disclosed: "Maria is firm but she never acts unilaterally with the children on discipline. Kate and William, along with Maria, are strict with the children but have this magic ability to appear not to be. It is a military operation but you would never guess it because they work ferociously hard on their children's upbringing and making it seem relaxed and happy for the three of them. They are very good at listening to the children but being firm."
