The "F Marry Kill" Trailer Just Dropped, And It's Like If My Worst Nightmares And Wildest Dreams Had A Baby
by Mychal Thompson · BuzzFeedI just saw the trailer for the new comedy thriller F Marry Kill. If you're a fan of true crime and have been on at least one date with a random stranger, we need to talk.
The movie stars Lucy Hale as Eva, a woman who finds herself in a wildly suspect serial dating scenario after she turns 30.
First off, Lucy’s no stranger to playing characters who seriously can’t catch a break from being thrown into the creepiest situations, like in Fear Island (2009), Truth or Dare (2018), Fantasy Island (2020), and, of course, the seven seasons of Pretty Little Liars.
But, sometimes, our girl gets a break in cute rom-coms like A Nice Girl Like You (2020), The Hating Game (2021), and Puppy Love (2023).
Based on what I saw in the trailer, F Marry Kill is her two best genres in one.
So, the trailer starts with Eva giving online dating another go (because she's very, very brave).
Her super supportive squad (played by Virginia Gardner, Bethany Brown, and JayR Tinaco) root for her along the way, and it seems like a normal dating scenario.
Eva scores three eligible bachelors, and at first, she's very into it until her obsession with a true crime podcast gets carried away. I've been there, done that.
To help her decide which man is Mr. Right, Eva and her friends play the infamous party game F, Marry, Kill. What could go wrong?
There's Mitch, played by Brendan Morgan.
There's Kyle, played by Jedidiah Goodacre.
And there's Norman, played by Samer Salem.
Things seem to really get out of control when Eva realizes the "Swipe Right Killer" from the true-crime podcast is specifically murdering victims he went on dates with from apps.
And the worst part is he low-key fits the description of...well, every guy she's dating: Kyle, Mitch, and Norman.
Look, I totally get turning into a full-time investigator when you put yourself out there on the apps because who knows who you're really dating? However, this movie looks like it takes it to another level.
If you're a true crime fan or habitually downloading, deleting, and re-downloading dating apps, you'll want to check out this movie. I know I do.
F Marry Kill will be out in theaters, on-demand and digital on Dec. 6. Watch the full trailer here:
What are your biggest red flags on dating apps? I'll go first: It's headless torsos for me because I'm not Ichabod Crane. I need to see your whole body on display. Are you hiding from the FBI? Stop being creepy and show your face.
