Dear reader: We finally have an update on those pesky rumors about Bridgerton stars Nicola Coughlan and Luke Newton.

Now, it's no secret (no spoiler, even) to point out that, on Bridgerton, Nicola and Luke's characters — Penelope and Colin, respectively — are very much in love. The whole freakin' latest season was focused on them.

And ever since the sun set on Season 3, rumors have persisted that Luke and Nicola have broken the fictional barrier and are actually dating in real life.

So what's the truth?

In a new interview with Time, Nicola truly spilled — and while she didn't give a definitive answer, it's pretty easy to guess what the sitch is from what she said.

"A lot of people really want me to marry Luke," she said. "We have this gorgeous friendship."

"We have such a love for one another and this experience that I’ll never have with someone else again. Isn’t it gorgeous that a man and woman can have that sort of relationship with one another?”
