Ruth Langsford reflected on past regrets and moving forward after Eamonn Holmes split

Ruth Langsford cryptically vows to 'move forward from mistakes' after Eamonn Holmes split

Loose Women star Ruth Langsford has candidly spoken about her life lessons and determination to avoid repeating past errors, following her shocking split from Eamonn Holmes. The pair, who previously fronted This Morning together, surprised their fans back in May with news of their divorce proceedings after 14 years of marriage.

While Ruth has not directly discussed the particulars of their split, she continues to wear her wedding ring while their marriage is still official. Eamonn, for his part, also wears his ring, despite appearing to have begun a new chapter with his girlfriend Katie Alexander.

In a heartfelt reflection, 64-year-old Ruth touched on the topic of regrets and the importance of looking ahead, telling Woman and Home Magazine: "I have many regrets, but I try not to dwell on them. You can't go back and change things.

"You can just go forward and not make the same mistakes again." Ruth also expressed that self "happiness" and ensuring her only child, Jack, 22, is in good spirits is the most important thing for her. She went on to describe her son as a "delightful, caring and a wonderful young man" who is also her "greatest love".

Alongside Jack, Ruth and Eamonn also share rescue dog Maggie, who has remained in their Surrey home. Eamonn on the other hand is said to be living in London, close to the GB News studio.

While their split seems for certain, relationship expert Jesper Jensen, from ExpertsEnAmour, shared his thoughts on what would need to happen if the pair decided to make a U-turn. He said: "Eamonn and Ruth have a history, and sometimes that can work in your favour if both have worked through past issues. For any chance of getting back together, there needs to be a genuine desire to forgive, heal, and rebuild trust."

However, he stresses that if these issues aren't addressed, "the same old problems will resurface".

On Eamonn's new relationship, Jesper added that timing isn't everything if somebody is emotionally ready, but also noted that rebound relationships can be challenging. He shared: "Eamonn's experience with Ruth will shape his approach with his new partner."

He concluded that if the GB News presenter has truly reflected on his past relationship, it could be a good foundation for his new one, but only if both partners are willing to deal with any emotional baggage.
