by · DevonLive

Hollywood actress Gwyneth Paltrow has revealed that she has 'waves of grief and sadness' as she opened up about her children recently leaving home.

The 52-year-old admitted that she wasn't feeling her best following the recent change to her children's living arrangements as she took to social media to answer questions from fans on her Instagram story.

One of her loyal fans simply asked her 'How's life as a free bird?'

And, despite admitting to feelings of sadness she claimed that she can also see the positives to her new way of life: "It is very different, I have waves of kind of grief and sadness and also I am kind of getting back in touch with this part of myself that I haven't felt like since I was in my early twenties, before I had kids."

She also claimed that it has given her more 'space' to do what she wants: "(I have) a little more space and imagination maybe, a little more inner space for like what I might want to do that day and stuff like that, so it's evolving, it's interesting."

Gwyneth, who shares her two children Apple Martin, 20 and Moses Martin, 18, with her ex-husband and Coldplay lead singer Chris Martin previously spoke in July about the prospect of her children starting college: "I think my kids both really know themselves very well and that's a trait about them that I both love and admire" she said in an Instagram story.

Having met Chris Martin in October 2002, they tied the knot in December the next year, while she was pregnant with Apple. But, after the couple went on to have their second child two years later, they called time on their marriage in 2015, before the actress later married American director Brad Falchuck in September 2018.

During her illustrious career in acting, the LA born actress has picked up an array of accolades including an Academy Award, Golden Globe and a Primetime Emmy Award for her work.
