Sam Quek has shared her disappointment about being eliminated from Strictly Come Dancing, confessing she's "gutted" to be leaving the BBC One show.

After being voted off on Saturday (2 November), Sam and her dance partner Nikita Kuzmin appeared on It Takes Two, where Sam reflected on their time on the show. Despite being eliminated, Sam expressed pride in her achievements and has "no regrets" about her experience.

In an emotional interview with host Fleur East, Sam said: "It's been a surreal 36 hours, but I'm ultimately proud of what I've accomplished. I'm going to miss Nikita every day, but I have no regrets."

Sam also took to social media to share a heartfelt message, revealing that she felt she had "more to give" on the show, but her journey was cut short.

In her statement, Sam admitted that she found Strictly more challenging than expected, but her respect for the show, Nikita, and her loved ones drove her to give it her all. She wrote: "For me... Strictly was tougher than I imagined. I held myself to the highest standard I could and put an expectation on myself that in hindsight may have been unrealistic. But my respect for the show, my partner and my family meant I was going to give the process everything I had."

Sam continued to discuss the impact Strictly had on her family life, before stating: "And must stress, I knew what I was signing up for. And when I commit to something, I give it everything I have for as long as I have. I have no regrets about what I put into this process. That's why I cannot be too sad about leaving. I gave everything I had. I fell short and that's ok, because there was nothing more I could have done."

She labelled Strictly an "amazing dream" which she will "miss so much", before commending fellow competitor Montell and declaring her a "better dancer" than herself, reports the Express.

"I look forward to whatever my future holds and thank you all for the amazing support and well wishes throughout my Strictly experience," Sam concluded her message to fans.
