Strictly Come Dancing's Pete Wicks talks changing his type of woman after being 'cut off'

Strictly Come Dancing contestant Pete Wicks has been very candid about his love life and why he may still be single.

While it's been proven that he is not short of female attention, Pete, by his own admission, is yet to hold down a relationship for longer than 18 months.

Opening up in his book Never Enough, the 36-year-old said that while he knows "a perfect relationship" doesn't exit, he still longs for "a fairy tale", but insisted he self-sabotages his love life.

"I push people away when I notice the slightest signs that we’re not suited or it might not work.

"I think it doesn’t always matter how much understanding of a situation we have, we can have all the gear and still no idea about how to put those lessons into action," he explained.

After also acknowledging that going for "a specific type" of woman was not doing him any justice, he has become "more open-minded" about what to look for.

He shared: "I realised that only going after a certain ‘type’ of person was cutting me off from people I’d connect better with.

"It’s so limiting, and often it’s based on an idea of what we think we should find attractive, rather than qualities we actually find attractive."

Pete went on to say that while looks are still important, a woman with "a fun personality and good morals" is "much more important" to him now.

The reality star is barely out of the headlines when it comes to his love life.

Last week, he finally addressed ongoing rumours about dating Love Island star Maura Higgins and, respectively, his Strictly Come Dancing partner Jowita Przystał.

While he claims he is single, Pete was reportedly seen kissing Maura at Pride of Britain afterparty in the Red Bar of London's Grosvenor House Hotel earlier this week.

Over on her TikTok, the pair also set tongues wagging after they performed a dance and staged a kiss together, although neither have confirmed they are dating.

He has also denied he is more than friends with Jowita, but recently admitted they had "good chemistry".
