Miriam and her friends enjoyed dinner at Rasam Indian Restaurant in Dublin.

Sharing a snap of the meal, the restaurant said: “Happy Birthday, Bernard! Thank you for choosing to celebrate this special day with us in Rasam, surrounded by your amazing wife Kathleen and your beloved family members.

“Your warmth, laughter, and generosity make every gathering unforgettable! Here’s to many more years of friendship, laughter, and unforgettable moments. Cheers to you, Bernard! #HappyBirthday #CheersToFriendship #CelebratingYou @bernard_rogan”.

Miriam is very close to her siblings, including her older sister Margaret, her younger sister Kathleen and brother Jim. The Prime Time journalist also had a sister named Anne, who sadly passed away from cancer at the age of 33.

She previously opened up about how close she and Anne were and how their daughters are best friends now too.

Miriam told RSVP Magazine: “Yes, we were born a year apart so we shared so much growing up and we also had children young around the same age. The beautiful thing is my second daughter Clara and Anne’s second daughter Lizzie are now best friends. They used to play all the time together since they were tiny.

“Lizzie was only two-and-a-half when her mum died, but it is a beautiful legacy that the girls are best friends. I am incredibly close to all of my siblings – there were five of us, four girls and a boy.

“I still remember the joy my Kerry father expressed to his sister on the phone when he finally got a boy [laughs]. My older sister Margaret is a historian in Belfast and my younger sister Kathleen is a journalist in Dublin, and of course I am very close to Jim [her brother who is a Fianna Fáil TD].”
