Initial autopsy results for Liam Payne have revealed that the singer pass away due to "multiple traumas" resulting in "internal and external bleeding".

The One Direction star tragically lost his life after falling from the third-floor balcony of his hotel room in Buenos Aires, Argentina yesterday.

Following a distressing 911 call from hotel staff, who expressed concerns for his well-being just before his passing, an autopsy was conducted by the Forensic Medical Corps at the Judicial Morgue.

According to preliminary findings, the results are consistent with injuries sustained from a ten-metre fall, reports the Mirror.

Further toxicological and anatomical-pathological analysis of Payne's blood and urine is underway to determine if any substances were present. Additionally, investigators may request the singer's medical history to assess his mental health background.

The investigation, led by Prosecutor No. 16, Andrés Madrea, and Deputy Secretary María Florencia Lavaggi, is ongoing, with a comprehensive autopsy report to be released in due course.

His grief-stricken family have broken their silence with an emotional tribute: "We are heartbroken. Liam will forever live in our hearts and we'll remember him for his kind, funny and brave soul. We are supporting each other the best we can as a family and ask for privacy and space at this awful time."

The musician, aged 31, had enjoyed the company of former bandmate Niall Horan while visiting Argentina. He was travelling with his girlfriend Kate Cassidy who had flown back home just before the tragic incident.
