Sophie Turner is in the running to star in the forthcoming Tomb Raider TV series.

The Amazon Prime Video show, which is being written and executive produced by Phoebe Waller-Bridge, was announced earlier this year.

Game Of Thrones star Turner along with Lucy Boynton, who starred in Bohemian Rhapsody, are auditioning for the lead role of Lara Croft based on the popular video game franchise, according to Deadline.

Details surrounding the series’ plot and release date are yet to be revealed.

Waller-Bridge previously said of her involvement in the show: “If I could tell my teenage self this was happening I think she’d explode. Tomb Raider has been a huge part of my life and I feel incredibly privileged to be bringing it to television with such passionate collaborators. Lara Croft means a lot to me, as she does to many, and I can’t wait to go on this adventure. Bats ‘n all.”

Since achieving worldwide success with Fleabag in 2016, Waller-Bridge has gone onto star in Solo: A Star Wars Story, produce Killing Eve and serve as a writer on the James Bond film No Time To Die.

Turner meanwhile, recently opened up about her divorce from Joe Jonas.

The former couple, who had been together for eight years and married for four, announced their separation in 2023.

In October last year, the pair came to an “amicable solution” in their custody battle, agreeing that the children “will spend time equally in loving homes in both the US and the UK.”

Turner is currently starring in British crime drama limited series Joan on ITVX.
