Here’s when Nuketown arrives in ‘Call of Duty: Black Ops 6’

The GOAT map returns

by · NME

There hasn’t been a Black Ops game without Nuketown and Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is no different. The map is returning to the game’s multiplayer, and you won’t have to wait long to check it out.

Nuketown is arriving in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 on November 1, 2024. Yes, just a week after launch. This was confirmed on the official Call of Duty X account ahead of the game’s release.

From the brief teaser trailer, the map appears to return to a more classic look compared to Black Ops Cold War, which drastically changed the colour palette of the map. Instead, the diverse colours, look, and design of the map appear to stick closer to the original Black Ops. We should get a proper look at the map soon with a trailer before its release, at which point we will update this guide.

You can actually see remnants of a “failed” Nuketown in the Strike map Warhead. This map features a bus, some houses, and a Nuketown sign that have been dumped after the plan failed. This map doesn’t resemble where the actual Nuketown map will be set, however, as this is in the middle of a desert with items laid about everywhere.

As with previous Call of Duty games, we would be surprised if this is the only classic map that returns in Black Ops 6. Chances are we will see additional classic maps alongside Nuketown return as a part of the game’s seasonal content in 2025.
