Greggs put £425 bottle of fizz on menu at new Fenwick's Champagne Bar in Newcastle

Greggs will soon open their own Champagne Bar inside Fenwick's in Newcastle with the full menu now revealed

Diners at Greggs' new Champagne Bar in Newcastle will be able to sip on a drop of £425 fizz, with the bottle of Cristal being the most expensive item on the menu that combines favourite bakes and decadent drinks.

On Wednesday, the Geordie bakers, who have already had their own bistro inside the famous department store, announced a new collaboration with Fenwick, which will see them take over an area on the floor to launch their own Champagne Bar. News of the newq must visit haunt was announced on Wednesday morning and quickly spread like wild fire on social media.

Much like the successful bistro, the menu for Greggs Champagne Bar takes customers' go-tos from the usual menu and gives them a luxurious twist. Small plates at the bar which will have its grand opening on Thursday, October 24, include the Sausage Roll with Hot Honey Chilli Sauce, Cheese & Onion Bake with Romesco Sauce & Almonds, Steak Bake with Peppercorn Aioli and Chicken Bake with Katsu Curry Sauce & Pickled Cucumber, which range in price from £4 to £4.75.

A specially curated cocktail list features Greggs inspired tipples like the Yum Yum Twist and Cream Éclair, priced at £11 and £12 respectively and there are also some much more pricer options to quench diners' thirst, with prosecco and champagne available by the glass and bottle. For the more budget conscious customer, the cheapest option is Italian prosecco at £10 a glass and £37 a bottle, with the rose variety on the menu for £12 and £40.

Moving up the price range, a bottle of Bollinger Special Cuvée Brut will set you back £80, while the world famous Laurent Perrier Rosé is £125 a bottle and £25 a glass. And topping the big money buys is the Louis Roederer Cristal, priced at £425 a bottle and £25 just for one glass.
