BBC Radio 1 star horrified as her mum's bedroom confession interrupts live show

Vick Hope, Katie Thistleton and Jamie Laing were discussing the excuses parents come up with when they have to explain rude things to their children when Vick's mum texted in with a confession of her own

BBC Radio 1 presenter Vick Hope was left red-faced after her mum's racy confession was read out live on air.

The radio star, along with co-hosts Katie Thistleton and Jamie Laing, had encouraged listeners to share tales of explaining risque jokes or memes to older family members.

The segment began innocently enough with fans recounting the need for "parent safe" versions of songs like Megan Thee Stallion's WAP. Katie confessed on air: "We can't read most of your messages out but we're enjoying them."

However, the situation took a turn when Vick's mother joined in via text, playfully chiding: "Can't believe it's taken you so long to work out [that the older generation pretend they don't understand sex references], we're all playing with you."

Moments later, Vick was left mortified by another message from her mum. She explained: "My mum's just texted. She knows that because she's got one shout-out now, about working out, that our parents are just playing with us. She's said: 'Also, we did sex before and after you were all born'."

Katie reacted with shock, claiming Vick's mum had "taken it too far". Vick herself refused to accept the revelation, stubbornly maintaining that her parents "did it once, to have me, they didn't need to do it after that".

Jamie also shared a cringe-worthy moment involving his mother, as he recounted: "She phoned me up the other day and said 'Darling, my libido's gone'. All the parents have gone mad!"

One listener later texted in:"I had to explain to my 12-year-old daughter she hasn't invented a new word after she had been jogging with the dog."

Presenter Vick Hope took a moment to work out the text, before understanding that the "new word" the girl thought she had created was actually "dogging."

She also mentioned her young niece belting out to Rihanna's 'S&M' without grasping the song's explicit content.

Vick then added: "If I shared a meme that was a bit rude, or if I swore or something, My mum would ring me and say 'I think you've been hacked'".
