Insta famous North Shields café to become Honeydukes for Harry Potter themed feast

It's a place known for creating some pretty magical dishes and an Instagram famous café in North Shields is gearing to embrace all the wizardy and wonder of a certain film franchise this weekend, when it becomes Hogwarts for one day only, with all manner of themed treats on the menu.

Having started life as a pop up at festive haunt Hadrian's Tipi back in 2017, before also being a popular calling point at Newcastle Christmas Market, RPlace has grown and grown, amidst the hardship of the Covid pandemic and the struggles that brought, to now have a permanent premises on Nile Street in North Shields.

Initially attracting plenty of attention for their decadent donuts and creative drink concoctions like their Unicorn Hot Chocolate, Rachel and Emily, the duo behind RPlace are expanding their menu all the time, sharing photos of their mouth watering sweet and savoury offerings all over Instagram.

And on Saturday, November 2, the pair with channel their inner Harry and Hermoine to conjure up a whole host of Harry Potter food and drink for a special event, the second of its kind, after their first Harry Potter day went down a storm at the start of September.

Teasing their second Harry themed event with a mocked up trailer for the film 'Harry Potter & the Box of Donuts' RPlace revealed they had more 'magic up their sleeves' and added that 'Muggles are also welcome."

They then followed that up with a breakdown of some of the things that will be on the menu on Saturday, including drinks like Butterbeer Polyjuice Potion; donuts ranging from Golden Snitch to Chocolate Frog and other creations like Sorting Hat Brownie Pie, Honeyduke's PIck 'n' MIx and Mrs Weasley's Fudge cookies.

*RPlace will be open from 10am-3pm on Saturday. Entry is free and a portion of profits go towards an LGBTQ+ charity
