I met the love of my life in the crisp aisle of Waitrose

A couple commemorated their wedding day by having a photoshoot in a Waitrose crisp aisle where they first met.

Jessica, 27, and Jaxom Weston-Brown, 28, met at their local branch in Eastbourne in East Sussex in 2017.

Jessica, who was then 20, had just started as a store assistant and was asked to train Jaxom on how to put crisps on the shelf.

Love slowly bloomed between them and the duo tied the knot seven years later.

Jessica and Jaxom got married at St Andrews church in Jevingto, East Sussex,  and on the way to the reception they stopped at Waitrose for pictures - and to buy a pack of crisps.

Jessica had just started as a store assistant and was asked to train Jaxom on how to put crisps on the shelf and the pair soon started to fall for each other

Jessica said: 'It started as a joke a few years ago - one of our friends posted in our group chat an Instagram reel of someone who had gone back to the place they met during their nuptials.

'All my friends are in couples that have met on a dating app and said that they would never be able to do this kind of thing.

'Then me and Jax were like "oh my gosh" we could go back to the crisp aisle of Waitrose.

'It just became a bit of a joke that we were going to do it on our wedding day and then as the wedding day approached we were like "let's actually do it".'

The loved-up pair decided to purchase a packet of black peppercorn Kettle chips on their wedding day to pay homage to the special aisle.

Jessica said: 'We hadn't even thought about what crisps we were going to buy so we randomly picked them - they had to be something classy on your wedding day.

'We haven't eaten them yet - we are saving them for our first anniversary.'

Jessica revealed that at first Jaxon was 'not her type' and that she didn't want to get involved with a work colleague.

She said: 'We didn't really talk that much for a while because I went on holiday and then a group of us from work all went to a Halloween party.

'Me and Jack got talking there and chatted the whole night and then we exchanged numbers and it went from there.'

They then started dating and worked together until December 2017.

She said: 'We quite instantly realised that we were well matched.

'He ended up moving to Cambridge for a bit so we were long distance for a while and then I transferred stores and went to the Cambridge store for a bit.

'Then we moved back to Eastbourne and got married.'

She said that shoppers were all 'a bit confused' when the bride and groom dropped into the supermarket and stopped to take photos of the happy couple.

They were also presented with a bouquet of red roses by their former colleagues.

Jessica said: 'We were walking down on our wedding attire having photos taken and then there was just random people shopping and taking stuff out of the shelves - which is quite funny.

'It was really nice to go back there and back where we met - it was really sweet.'

In a post on Facebook after their visit, Waitrose passed on its 'huge congratulations to the happy couple'.

She said that 'marriage life is good' but is still waiting to have her lifetime supply of crisps.

'I was waiting for Waitrose to give us our lifetime supply of crisps but it has not happened,' joked Jessica.
