Shaman Durek Verrett is accused of sexual assault

Shaman Durek has denied sexually assaulting a Swedish father-of-two.

Joakim Boström, 49, has accused the royal of 'grabbing his penis' and 'trying to have sex with him' in one of his 'spiritual' sessions.

The bisexual American Shaman, real name Durek Verrettt, who married Princess Martha-Louise of Norway in August, denies the claims and said he has a 'legal document' in place to protect him.

Speaking to Norweigan newspaper Se og Hør, Mr Boström claims the pair met in New York in 2015. He says he decided to book one of his sessions because he is 'spiritually curious'.

Mr Boström alleges that the Shaman, also 49, quickly 'crossed a line' and flirted with him.

'It wasn't just in the session that he crossed the line. When I think back on it, he always had a sexualised behaviour and he would always touch me. It was tiring.'

He added: 'The fact that he is inside the Norwegian royal house is absolutely sick! In my opinion, Durek is looking for power and position. That so few see through him is absolutely incredible.'

Shaman Durek has now been accused of sexual assault - weeks after marrying Princess Martha Louise of Norway
Joakim Boström has now claimed he was sexually assaulted by the Shaman in a new interview with Norwegian outlet Se og Hør

Durek and Princess Martha, 53, gathered 300 guests, including many royals, at their wedding in August. The nuptials were controversial, partly due to Verrett having previously voiced conspiratorial views, which include believing that childhood cancer is caused by unhappiness.

The allegations come amid a very difficult time for the Norwegian royal family, which has in recent weeks been blighted by illness and further assault scandals.

Mr Boström said he first met Durek in New York in 2015 - and the pair became close friends, often hanging out in bars in the evening.

But despite knowing his friend was married to a woman, Durek began 'flirting' with him, which became 'increasingly intense', according to Mr Boström.

Mr Boström claims he was touched in an 'inappropriate way' by Verrett after attending a spiritual session with him, after he claimed he had a cyst in the area.

'He started touching my penis. I reacted violently and shouted “what do you think is going to happen? You want me to get an erection?”. I told him to stop, but he wouldn't budge. He seemed determined to persuade me to have sex,' he told Se oh hor.

In a later session, he said he was then sexually assaulted by the Shaman, who didn't stop when he asked.

Mr Boström didn't report Durek's behaviour at the time - something he now regrets.

In a statement given to Se og Hør, Durek's representative Jenni Weinman said Boström had been his Swedish agent before being fired for having an inappropriate relationship with a member of staff.

Durek, 49, and Princess Martha, 53, made headlines for their wedding in August (pictured) - partly due to Verrett's controversial views

She claimed the perceived assault was part of the Shaman's 'healing methods', which often require him to 'remove energy' in areas around the armpits and groin.

Weinman added that Durek has a 'legal document' in place to protect himself from people with 'evil intentions' as his work involves touch.

FEMAIL has reached out to representatives for Shaman Durek for comment.

Durek Verrett, from California, refers to himself as a 'shaman' - a type of leader who attempts to heal by connecting to the spiritual world and even counts Gwyneth Paltrow among his celebrity clients.

In 2020, Emily Jane Fox recounted her own trip to one of the Shaman's healing sessions for Vanity Fair, revealing she'd signed a waiver to take part.

She wrote: 'You expressly consent to any and all treatments, methods, and techniques necessary that Shaman Durek may perform in your session as determined by him.

'This includes but is not limited to physical touching, energy healing, releasing of toxins…, energetic entry or physical touching of my genitals or electric shock treatment in the spine.

'The waiver also gives Durek the right to terminate a session if you try to kiss or touch him; fondle yourself; get undressed or try undressing him; attempt to have intercourse or oral sex with him or sex with yourself; or threaten him in any way.'

Fox said Durek justified the waiver by claiming in shamanism 'you have to speak to the sexual glands'.

Durek married the Princess Martha Louise in August - several weeks after Marius Borg Høiby, the stepson of Crown Prince Haakon, was himself arrested on assault charges.

Speaking on Instagram last week, Shaman Durek discussed 'lifting negative energy' and religion.

Durek found himself in hot water in 2022 when claims from his book, Spirit Hacking, published in 2019, resurfaced when he and Martha Louise got engaged.

He claimed that children 'can get cancer from being unhappy' and was dropped by his publisher shortly after the couple announced their engagement in June 2022.

He previously told Se og Hør, that there is a 'place and time for everything'.

The self-proclaimed Shaman added: 'In my practice, I have experienced that people seek my spiritual help when they are ready for it. Everyone has their own, unique path to follow, and I respect the path each individual ends up taking.'

Borg Høiby also claims he himself has been a victim and faced abuse in a past relationship.

Earlier this month, Princess Mette-Marit's son from a previous relationship, was taken into custody after breaching a restraining order.

He has now been questioned in eight police interviews, his defence lawyer Øyvind Bratlien told TV2.

Märtha, who describes herself as 'spiritual' and claims to be a clairvoyant, got into a relationship with Durek after overcoming the loss of her first husband, Ari Behn, who died by suicide in 2019.

But things have not been easy for Märtha, as she was forced to leave her role as a working member of the royal family because of her fiancé's controversial views.

Durek stated that he believed that childhood cancer is caused by unhappiness in a book he wrote.

Following their nuptials, senior members of Norway’s royal family partied into the early hours as they celebrated Princess Martha Louise's controversial marriage to Durek.

King Harald, who is 87 years old and in frail health, did not return to his royal yacht, which was anchored by the shoreline of the Geirangerfjord until after 1am.
