Princess Olympia of Greece leaves royal fans in hysterics
by Eleanor Dye · Mail OnlinePrincess Maria-Olympia of Greece left royal fans in hysterics on Tuesday as she shared snaps from her luxury holiday to Thailand.
The high-flying socialite is the daughter of Prince Pavlos and Princess Marie-Chantal and a member of the former Greek royal family.
She is no stranger to a glamorous lifestyle - and was keen to soak up the sun on a trip to Pattaya.
Captioning her post 'Out of office' on Instagram, the princess shared an insight into her trip, which included bathing with elephants.
But royal fans were quick to notice a rather raunchy scene was taking place behind her in one of the snaps, with two elephants getting frisky.
They praised Olympia for her sense of humour as she posed in front of them in a non-plussed fashion, while wearing a grey T-shirt, denim shorts and flip flops.
People commented: 'Not sure if you noticed what’s really happening in the back..';
'BRILLIANT!'; 'This is sending me';
'That last frame! Oi Oi, Nelly!'
Olympia was hailed the 'world's most eligible single' in the December 2023 issue of Tatler, shortly after separating from aristocrat Peregrine Pearson.
Family is of central importance to the Greek royal family and Olympia enjoys a close relationship with her parents.
Prince Pavlos, whose late father King Constantine reigned until the Greek monarchy was abolished in 1973, has described her as his 'firecracker daughter'.
Meanwhile, she is said to FaceTime her mother every day.
Olympia was born in New York City, but relocated to London with her parents and four younger brothers and spent most of her childhood in the UK.
The family continue to use their royal titles and are very close to the British monarchy.
King Constantine, who died last year, was related to Prince Philip through his father, King Paul, who was the late Duke of Edinburgh's first cousin.
Constantine agreed to be Prince William's godfather and King Charles returned the favour for Olympia.
She has revealed how the King is the 'best godfather' and credited the royal for always remembering her birthday.
Through her mother, Olympia is the granddaughter of billionaire Robert Warren Miller, who helped popularise duty-free shopping through his firm Duty Free Shoppers.
With hopes of pursuing a career in fashion, Olympia attended her first couture show aged 11 with her parents in Rome.
She later had the privilege of interning with Christian Dior's Paris haute couture atelier when she was 17.
Princess Olympia, who has over 300k followers on her Instagram page, where she updates royal watchers with insights into her daily life, has often expressed her endless love for the fashion industry.
She studied photography at the Parsons School of Design, before graduating with a degree in Fashion Business and Marketing from The Gallatin School of Individualized Study in 2019.
Alongside her studies, Olympia launched her modelling career and has since worked with some of the biggest fashion brands in the world.
She has modelled for the likes of Dolce and Gabbana, Michael Kors and Net-a-Porter, and became a brand ambassador for Pretty Ballerinas in 2019 and Aquazzura in 2022.
She has also featured in number of prestigious magazines, including Harper's Bazaar, Hello! and Vogue Thailand.
When she isn't centre stage, Olympia is often seen adorning the front row at catwalk shows or attending star-studded parties.
She counts Diane von Fürstenberg's model granddaughter, Princess Talita Natasha von Fürstenberg, Poppy Delevingne and Princess Beatrice's stylist, Olivia Buckingham, among her close friends.
She dated the son and heir of Michael Pearson, 4th Viscount Cowdray - whose family has a reputed £224million fortune - for two years.
Peregrine's father owns a significant portion of the Pearson media empire as well as the 16,500-acre Cowdray Park estate in West Sussex.
It is home to Cowdray Park polo club, where Princes William and Harry have played.
Having moved away from her former family home in Cheyne Walk, Chelsea, Olympia now lives in Notting Hill with her sausage dog, Echo, who she adopted during the coronavirus lockdown.
Last month Olympia looked radiant in a blue silk gown as she took her place as a bridesmaid at the wedding of her aunt Princess Theodora.
She was one of five bridesmaids at the wedding of Princess Theodora of Greece and LA-based lawyer fiancé, Matthew Kumar.
They wore a matching deep blue, silk gown - which featured cap sleeves and an elegant scoop neckline, which all the bridesmaids pairs with different hairstyles.
Princess Olympia opted for a clean, slicked-back bun, and kept her make-up fresh and neutral for the royal wedding at the Metropolitan Cathedral in Athens.
And she paired her blue gown with silver heels, with matching silver jewellery.
