by · Dezeen

The Dezeen editorial team is up for seven awards at the prestigious International Building Press Awards 2024 – the most out of any of the publications nominated this year.

Dezeen features editor Nat Barker received no less than three nominations for this year's International Building Press (IBP) Journalism Awards, in the Housing and Residential Property Journalist of the Year, Feature Journalist of the Year and Scoop of the Year categories.

Junior reporter Amy Peacock and editorial assistant Starr Charles are both nominated in the New Journalist of the Year category, where they will compete against journalists from Construction News, Social Housing and Housing Today.

Dezeen nominated for Media Brand of the Year

Dezeen editor Tom Ravenscroft, meanwhile, is up for the Architectural Journalist of the Year award in competition with journalists from Building Design and The Architects' Journal.

Dezeen has also been nominated as the overall Media Brand of the Year. The other publications in this category are The Architects' Journal, Building, The B1M, Inside Housing and Social Housing.

With seven award nominations, Dezeen has the most out of any publications taking part, with the runners-up nominated for five awards each.

The IBP Awards celebrates "the very best journalism in the built environment" and is judged by a panel of journalists and building industry professionals.

Award nominations follow PPA and BSME wins

The seven IBP nominations are the latest in a line of accolades for Dezeen this year.  It was nominated for ten industry awards and in July, Dezeen won a pair of Professional Publishers Association trophies for its annual awards programme and partnership with Bentley, as well as being honoured at the Conference and Events Awards.

Earlier this year, Dezeen features editor Nat Barker was named best writer in the specialist category at the BSME Talent Awards for his "attention-grabbing yet intelligent" articles.

Dezeen's deputy editor Cajsa Carlson, Dezeen's creative studio Dezeen Studio and our newsletter Dezeen in Depth were also shortlisted at the same awards, while members of Dezeen's sales team were shortlisted for a pair of awards at the AOP Digital Publishing Awards.

The wins follow a successful 2023 when Dezeen's co-CEOs Benedict Hobson and Wai Shin Li were named leaders of the year for media and the digital industries at The Drum Awards 2023, Dezeen's editorial team was named Team of the Year at the PPA's annual awards and Dezeen's editor Tom Ravenscroft was named Editor of the Year at the Association of Online Publishers' annual awards.
