Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha invited Omar Abullah to take the oath as Chief Minister days after he received a letter from the National Conference that the latter has been unanimously elected as Leader of the Legislature Party.

Omar Abdullah, Vice President of the National Conference, has been invited by the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, to form the next government. Abdullah, who was elected as the leader of the legislature party, received support from the Congress, CPI(M), AAP, and independent MLAs. He will be sworn in as the Chief Minister on October 16th at 11:30 am in Srinagar.
