Palestinian militants in Gaza fired a barrage of rockets into Israel on Monday as mourners marked the anniversary of the Oct. 7 attack, without disrupting a nearby ceremony. Lebanon’s Health Ministry said an Israeli strike in the country’s south killed at least 10 firefighters. Lebanon’s Hezbollah, which began firing rockets at Israel on Oct. 8, 2023, in support of its ally Hamas, fired new barrages despite its recent losses.Hamas also said it attacked Israeli forces in different parts of Gaza. The Israeli military said it launched a wave of artillery and airstrikes overnight and into Monday to thwart what it said was an imminent attack. Hezbollah also said that it targeted areas north of Israeli city of Haifa, a day after an attack on the northern Israeli city wounded over 10 people.

The Israel-Hezbollah conflict was further heightened on Sunday when a fresh barrage of rockets was fired from the Lebanese side on Israel. The Iron Dome of Israel was activated and several of the rockets fired towards the Israeli territory were intercepted by air defence missiles.
