According to a statement given by the Myanmar military, roof tiles on a two-story Chinese consulate were damaged by an explosion on October 18. No casualties were reported in the blast and a probe has been launched to arrest the accused behind it, it added.

The Chinese Consulate in Myanmar’s second-largest city has been slightly damaged by an explosive device.

On October 18, at around 5 p.m., the Chinese Consulate located at the corner of 73rd Street and 102A Street in Chanmyathazi Township, Mandalay, was attacked with a bomb, damaging the roof of a two-story building inside the compound.  Following the attack, security forces conducted temporary roadblocks and inspections in the surrounding areas near the consulate.
