AIMIM's Asaduddin Owaisi, the Hyderabad MP, cited a Supreme Court judgment and said that suo motu action should be taken whenever someone makes a hate speech.

The First Information Report (FIR) was registered by the Cyber Crime police station of the Hyderabad police under relevant sections of the IT Act and Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). 

Narsinghanand has several cases against him, including for allegedly making a hate speech at a conclave in Haridwar in December 2021, and was out on bail.

The demand for action against Yati Narsinghanand for making objectionable comments about Prophet Muhammad has intensified. In this regard, Asaduddin Owaisi met with Hyderabad Commissioner CV Anand.

A case against 1,200 persons has been filed in this connection and the police have identified 26 of them, an official said.
