The oil marketing companies on Tuesday announced a hike in the prices of commercial LPG gas cylinders, effective from today (October 1st), according to the sources.

From October 1, 2024, oil marketing companies have raised the price of commercial LPG cylinders by Rs 48.50. The price hike will directly affect restaurants, hotels, and other small businesses that rely heavily on commercial LPG gas cylinders for daily operations.

As the crude prices have come down, oil marketing companies are making profits of Rs 15/litre and Rs 12/litre on petrol and diesel, respectively.

Despite falling crude prices and record profits, consumers are still waiting for meaningful reductions in fuel prices, even as oil marketing companies are reaping huge benefits.
