The low-pressure area has developed over the Bay of Bengal. It will move west-northwestward and strengthen over central parts of the South Bay of Bengal. It is likely to strengthen in the next 36 hours and move west-northwestward towards Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and South Coast, bringing heavy rains.
