FONTANA – (INT) – Fontana police say a deranged man they shot and killed had a lengthy criminal background. Jesus Adrian Garcia, 44, had a record of felony assault, possession of dangerous weapons, criminal threats, vehicle theft, home invasion robbery and other crimes. A police officer is being treated for injuries inflicted by Garcia who’d been swinging a metal pipe, damaging property and assaulting another person on Tuesday (September 24th). The incident near Cherry Avenue and Baseline Road escalated when the officer ordered the suspect to drop the pipe but was instead attacked. Investigators said there was a lethal force response by another officer that proved fatal to Garcia.

The suspect's body was found in Odisha’s Bhadrak district. According to the police, he was found hanging, and a case of suicide has been filed at the Dushuri Police Station.
